The Ellen Show’s Season 13 Premiere

As the New Media Producer at The Ellen Show, I ran all creative strategy and day-to-day operations for Ellen’s diverse social media portfolio, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Snapchat.

One of the projects I’m most proud of from my time at the daytime talk show was our Season 13 Bi-Coastal Premiere. The entire production staff flew to NYC to film two days worth of show content from Rockefeller Center. Guests included: P!nk, Hillary Clinton, Justin Beiber, Jimmy Fallon, Macey the Presidential Expert, Caitlyn Jenner, Malala Yousafzai.

 
 

Coming to Life in Social

Though the show has always been the main attraction, as audiences shifted more into digital, our strategy was to make Ellen’s digital channels very much an extension of her brand and voice. We launched the hashtag #EllenInNYC across multiple channels including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook and build unique activations and experience to increase engagement among those posting.

For the NYC Premiere, we built an Instagram cut-out (see below) that lived in Rockefeller Center for viewers and passerbyes to take part in this one-of-a-kind experience.
